Verified by Visa is a service designed to ensure you are protected while shopping online with your Visa card.
How does Verified by Visa work?
As you make a purchase online, TIO assesses the risk of the transaction based on a number of factors. In some instances, you may be asked to confirm some personal details (such as date of birth, address details, mother's maiden name) so your we can be sure the card isn't used without your permission.
Will I need to apply for a new card to use Verified by Visa?
No, your current Visa card (debit or credit) will work under the Verified by Visa scheme and a new card will not be required. Your card will automatically be registered for the scheme so that you will be protected.
What will I see when I purchase items online?
Each time you make an online purchase, TIO assesses the risk level of the transaction - certain activity may seem out of the ordinary, maybe because it's a high dollar value, or a retailer you've never bought with before.
If TIO is concerned a transaction may be fraudulent, it will prompt you to confirm your identity, and you will be requested to enter some personal details unique to your account with us.
For transactions considered as high-risk, you may be required to confirm several details before the transaction is approved.
How much does Verified by Visa cost?
This additional security benefit is provided to you free of charge.
What browser is required to use Verified by Visa?
Verified by Visa requires Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 and above, Netscape Navigator 7.1 and above, Safari or Firefox.
Is Verified by Visa accessible from any computer?
Yes, you can use Verified by Visa from any computer connected to the internet, with a compatible browser, as outlined above.
